Investing in Tomorrow's Leaders
For over a century, the Elks have believed that investing in young people is one of the most important things we can do for our community. Each year we award scholarships to Yolo County high school seniors, host the Hoop Shoot competition, and support drug awareness education in local schools.

Scholarships
Each year, Woodland Elks Lodge #1299 awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors in Yolo County. These scholarships help deserving students pursue higher education and build a brighter future.
- Open to graduating seniors at Yolo County high schools
- Applicants must show academic achievement and community involvement
- Applications reviewed by the lodge scholarship committee
- Awards presented at the Annual Scholarship Banquet
Youth Sports
Hoop Shoot
The Elks National Hoop Shoot Free Throw Contest is one of the largest youth sports programs in the country. Local participants compete at the lodge level, advancing to district, state, and national competitions.
- Open to boys and girls ages 8–14
- Free throw competition with age-based divisions
- Winners advance to district and state competitions
- National finals held annually
Community Health
Drug Awareness
The Elks Drug Awareness Program provides educational resources to youth, parents, and schools to help prevent drug and alcohol abuse. Our lodge actively supports this national initiative in Woodland.

Yolo County High School Seniors
Woodland Elks Lodge #1299 is proud to support graduating seniors from Yolo County high schools with annual scholarships. We believe every deserving student should have the opportunity to pursue higher education.
Eligibility Requirements
- Graduating senior at a Yolo County high school
- Demonstrated academic achievement
- Active community involvement
- Completed scholarship application
- Awards presented at the Annual Scholarship Banquet

The Elks have supported America's veterans since 1868. Woodland Elks Lodge #1299 carries on that proud tradition through service, recognition, and community support for our local veterans and their families.
Veterans Service
The Elks are one of the oldest and most dedicated supporters of America's veterans. Our lodge actively supports local veterans through visits, assistance programs, and community recognition events.
